Make of Roman Made Swimbaits

I absolutely loved this video. It’s a perfect balance between warmth and craftsmanship that you would expect from a Japanese handcraft swimbait, and especially from Roman Made swimbaits. If you haven’t heard of Roman Made before check out some of my previous posts to bring yourself up to speed.

Fish It Easy

The Japanese are great at doing corny stuff, I’m sure it’s not intentional in a lot of cases. Check this out for corn courtesy of Ken Iyobe (Jackall bass pro).

Fav Imakatsu Cranks

20130224-201729.jpg
I’ve grown a real liking for Imakatsu lures over the last few years. This affection is largely due to their cranks. Two in particular standout and have served me well on both bass and sooty grunter. The IK-180 & IK-250 are two must haves and are available in silent and the rattle loaded Infra Sonic model. If you get a chance give them a swim.

It comes down to respect

I posted a story up earlier in the week from the BASS website in the states regarding boaters and non-boaters.

Click here to check it out.

Anyway apparently it got a fair bit of interest and comments moving on their site.

Anyway a guy by the name of Chris Bowes has put together a post which is his take on the situation. It’s a good story and one that I take much notice of because Chris is the US version of me, a tournament director that’s been running events since 2004.

Megabass Bling

20121128-221338.jpgWe all know that Megabass produce lures, rods and reels that are loaded with the wow factor. They also do some great clothing and accessories that also rock.

I’ve got one of the Thermo Suits which is my go-to cold weather wet weather gear and I just love it. It’s super toasty for those cold Tassie trips each year and on the iced up mornings at Glenbawn in winter.

It’s got Megabass written on it so you’d expect it to be a blend of fashion and function wouldn’t you?

Anyway take a look at some of things they do other than tackle.

The New Daiwa Steez- it’s nearly here

20121030-210847.jpgI’ve been impatiently waiting for the new Steez baitcaster to arrive since I heard there was a new one coming.

Well my waits nearly over with the new one set to hit Aussie shores in the coming weeks. So while I’m waiting i thought it might be worthwhile to revisit the old one.

Enjoy the pics of the new model, as soon as I get hold of it I’ll be posting my thoughts, and with a trip to NQ in late November I’ll get a chance to road test it and give it a review.

In the meantime check out a review that Tackle Tour did on the original Steez.

Megabass……oh what a choice

I’ve had a reel (yes pun intended) affliction with baitcaster-itis this year.

While I try not to have more reels than I do rods to mount them on and can fit on the deck of my boat(rigged and ready to fish that is) at the same time, I do like to turn my reels over fairly regularly so I get to experience the different reels that are out on the market.

Currently I have no Megabass reels in my collection so it may be time to get another one. Right after i get rid of something else of course.
